Duron Carter Update

Duron Carter is one of the hottest new names at the Capstone. Since his arrival in April, Carter has made the classic name, JULIO, somewhat disappear. As many fans are aware, Duron is the son of Minnesota Viking and former Buckeye Cris Carter. Carter signed with Ohio State in the spring of 2009 and played as a true freshmen for former head coach, Jim Tressel. Duron enjoyed himself a little too much in Columbus and struggled with his academic studies. Cris Carter made his son withdraw from Ohio State and decided to enroll at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. Coffeyville has had many marquee players like Brandon Jacobs, Ryan Lilja, and Leonard Little. Carter impressed the skeptics and was drawing interest form teams like Miami, Florida, LSU, and most notably Alabama. Carter signed with Alabama in April and is expected to use his 6'5 210 lb frame in a big way. Carter along with Marquise Maze, Darius Hanks, Michael Williams, and Trent Richardson present a dynamic offense for Offensive Coordinator, Jim McElwain. The only issue now is that he has not been cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse. Crimson Tide fans know about the recent issue with this, because of Alfy Hill. Hill signed with Alabama in 2009 and was a four star linebacker according to Rivals.com. The clearinghouse out of nowhere declared him ineligible last August. Needless to say, it was a big blow at the time. Luckily, Carter has been cleared to play, but can not take summer classes this fall due to transferring issues with Coffeyville and Alabama. Carter should help AJ McCarron or Phillip Sims in a big way this fall. My stat forecast for Duron this fall: 51 receptions, 709 yards, 6 TDs.
